Power Based Training + Personal Coaching
We believe group training + coaching is what most cyclists need to maximize their workouts. Our strategy uses computerized power based training coupled with personal coaching to maximize your cycling potential through applied fundamentals, allowing you to unleash your maximum power on the bike.
Your training journey starts now.
We believe that most cyclists need to do some of their training with a group and with coaching to get the most out of their workouts.
The Strategy of YEG Power Bike is to make you the best cyclist you can be by using power based computerized training coupled with personal coaching on your application of the fundamentals of the cycling stroke and other techniques, to help you engage your maximum power on a bike.
We will run a “6 month” program which will start with form and then move through power, endurance and speed in that order. We will have some flexibility to cater to your particular training plan and we would be pleased to discuss that with you.
Leadership: Tom Keogh & Andy Trevoy
Coaches: Ken Riess, Steve Mundy, Chris Check, Adam Biel
YEG Power Bike uses the Computrainer Studio which was originally pioneered by Kevin Masters and Aerobic Power Training Systems and which Tom and Andy have been involved in from Day 1 as athlete users and as financial and business advisors to Kevin. This is still an excellent system, it is a little “long in the tooth” it is robust and we are able to program new workouts for it and match new videos to it.
We opperate out of a space in the Running Room office warehouse complex near Whitemud Drive and Calgary Trail for our studio. The address is 9750-47 Ave. This space has a separate entrance, is the right size for our equipment, is improved with carpet and dry wall, has showers (we had to install a toilet!), and has a separate secured room for bike storage.

YEG Power Bike started on November 1, 2019 and will continue to April 12, 2020; when most of our coaching staff and some of you go to Mallorca to test out the benefits of our program. We currently have five (5) sessions a week. We have 9 computrainer units (with a couple in reserve) so we can accommodate up to 45 riders in those 5 sessions.
If you cannot make your session you can make a switch to any other session any week or if you are away you can do 2 sessions the next week. This will be subject to availability, but we do not book over 8 regular riders to any session so it should not be a problem. Just email us; we request 24 hours’ notice if possible but we will try to accommodate in any event.
We recommend a longer “ride” each week. That ride is on Sunday mornings at 0900. Computrainers may be used on Sunday on a first come first serve basis, or you can bring your trainer.
